Domain Selection | Interviews | POVs
We began with a brainstorm session where we discussed various different
concepts and problems related to our studio theme: Stepping Through Time.
Then we narrowed it down to one problem domain: Financial literacy
in the stock market.
After that, we each interviewed multiple participants
across varying age-groups, income, nationality, and financial backgrounds
to diversify our potential pool of insights.
Interviews | POVs | HMWs | Experience Prototypes
We interviewed some more people and updated our problem domain to
"Making Investment more Accessible."
We developed Point-of-View's and How-Might_We's for each of our interviwees,
which helped us identify a list of relevant solutions. The solution we ended
up choosing is "Investing with close Friends & Family"
Storyboard | Filming | Video Editing
We did some market research of products that solved similar problems to ours. Then, we identified major tasks that could be perfomed with our product so as to highlight them in the video.
Crazy 8's | Testing
We began by sprinting through two rounds of Crazy 8's,
brainstorming through different relizations of our project on different platforms.
We ultimately chose to stick with our Mobile App relization.
After this, we made our paper-based lo-fi prototype of Wallus, following which, we
sought out several participants to test it. Their feedbacks steered Wallus towards
a better UI.
Moodboards | Designing
We sketched a revised version of our app interface and selected our
app's color palette based on 4 different moodboards.
We then finalized our typography stylesheet and prepared reusuable
components in Figma for our med-fi prototype.
App Development
We developed an app using React Native and Expo with Supabase as our backend.
The focus is on the frontend with much of the data hardcoded into the app. The server
database is crucial for logging in and registering new users as well as making real-time chat a possiblility.
Evaluations
Other members of the class synthesized individual heuristic evaluations and discussed it together to generate
a single report that would help us fix the most important problems found.
We did the same for other teams. Below, you can find the report that we received for Wallus.
Poster Design | Pitching | Video Editing
We designed and prepared a poster, a pitch, and a demo video for the Project Expo.
Synthesis
We put together an engaging, well written report to document our quarter of work on this project.
