Using the feedback from our Heuristic Evaluations, we were able figure out ways to address the most pertinent issues in our app in-terms of usability. We started the process of implementing these changes by taking our Figma sketches and uploading them to Avocode, which produced xml files for us to begin our Android application. From there, we implemented the actual functionality for the buttons and text fields on the screens. While much of the functionality was actually implemented, there are still some Wizard of Oz features such as the data synthesis (combining and comparing the students’ responses), the chat functionality, and using the Google Maps API to find the user’s school’s image. Our hard-coded features include having a test user profile for both student and teacher and already having some student responses into the database so that when a teacher-user is testing the app, they do not have to wait for actual responses and can instead still test the full capabilities of the app.
