We began by interviewing a wide variety of parents -- both working and stay-at-home -- to gain insights into the parenting lifestyle. We uncovered several factors that contribute to parenting stress, including the lack of a support network, lack of sleep, and lack of reliable sources for parenting tips and information.
From our initial interview results, we brainstormed and formulated POVs.
Stemming further from these POVs, we created three solutions -- a social media platform specifically for parents,
a platform that finds traveling daycare services, and an app that categorizes and creates groups of parents with similar struggles --
and tested them on potential users.
We then developed a concept video illustrating three specific tasks that the user could accomplish with our eventual product.
Given user testing feedback from our low-fi prototype, we constructed a medium-fi prototype using Sketch and Marvel.
A group of students in our studio interacted with the medium-fi prototype and summarized the heuristic evaluations, assigning severity ratings to each violation and suggesting modes of improval while focusing specifically on the prototype UI.
