Come join us on Wednesday, June 1st, from 12:30 PM - 2:20 PM to see what the 6 student teams created this quarter in response to the challenge to design for the Refugee Crisis. Lunch is on us.

Students partnered with five organizations who work with refugees including Disaster Tech Lab, East Bay Refugee Forum, UNHCR Hive, International Rescue Committee in San Jose, and Sea of Solidarity. They interviewed refugees, organization leaders, and volunteers, and then designed, prototyped, and tested innovative ideas. Come learn about the problems they tried to address and the technologically mediated solutions they came up with.

This is a great chance to learn more about the refugee crisis and meet top students across many disciplines at Stanford. Lunch and mingle with a select group of students that includes the designers, developers, and deep thinking problem solvers of our future.

Activities

Each team will give a 10-minute presentation to give you an overview of their design process and final project. After the presentations, we will have a demo/poster session plus food and drinks to give you a chance to meet the students and see all of the projects up close.

This is your opportunity to find out more about the current state of the art of human-computer interaction and design education, to learn its role in a university curriculum, and to see some novel ideas presented by some of the top students in the country.

Projects

The 6 innovative group projects look at applications and services on mobile and web platforms.
