Carbon emissions are difficult for the average person to track, understand, and change. Parbon allows users to log and track their carbon usage from commutes, understand what their carbon footprint means relative to the world around them, and buy carbon offsets.
With identifying Parbon as our solution to giving users more control over their carbon usage, we produced a video to illustrate the concept and context of use of the product.
With considering multiple realizations that could implement Parbon, we designed and tested a low-fidelity mobile phone app to gain more insight about the strengths and weaknesses of our solution.
Using Jakob Nielsen’s list of heuristics for user interface design, our classmates performed a focused critique of our med-fi prototype, which we then incorporated into our final high-fidelity prototype.
We presented the final prototype of Parbon at the CS147 Project Fair on Friday, March 11, 2022 to our peers, faculty, and interested parties from the industry.
