Need Finding

Here we executed our first steps towards need finding. Knowing that we wanted to make living spaces more accessible, we interviewed 6 users and logged significant data.

POVs and Experience Prototypes

We interviewed new users and created "How Might We's" and experience prototypes in the next steps of our brainstorming process.

Concept Video

Here we began exploring new ways to share our idea. We created a concept video that displays how our product will work, the problem it aims to solve, and the audience we will be reaching.

Low-Fi Prototyping

This week we sketched a plethora of design realizations and created low fidelity prototypes using our first UI Designs. We then performed usability tests with these prototypes.

Medium-Fi Prototypes

We improved our low-fi prototype design and used interactive user interface tools to create a medium fidelity prototype.

Heuristic Evaluations

We received heuristic evaluations and used it diagnose any major UI issues.

Hi-fi Prototype

Using feadback from heuristic evaluations, we created a final hi-fi prototype that we are very excited to share!

Poster and Pitch

The final stage of our design process is to share our final product by pitching our idea to collegues and course advisors at a poster session.

What is HouseMates?

HouseMates is a mobile platform that aims to connect home-seekers with help-seekers. An able-bodied person can utilize our platform to browse affordable housing options. Elderly or physically disabled people that own homes can use our platform by offering rooms in their living spaces in exchange for help with every day tasks.
