Our Mission

Communication between parents, students, and teachers is too often lacking or adversarial.  Everyone is busy and information falls through the cracks.  LoopedIn encourages more positive communication by tracking assignments and rewarding accountability, so that everyone can stay in the loop.

DESIGN PROCESS

Needfinding

We interviewed teachers, educational administrators, and parents and discovered that communication between students, parents, and teachers is generally lacking and often adversarial. We thought about how we might 1) expedite and simplify teacher communication, 2) make time spent communicating less of a burden for parents, and 3) create a team environment by setting goals, making plans together, and putting the student at the center.

POVs & Experience Prototypes

Based on our needfinding, we came up with three Point of View statements, which led us to three different experience prototypes: a bulletin app, a gamification app, and a goal setting app.

Concept Video

Once we chose our favorite POV, we storyboarded and filmed a concept video.  The video illustrates the following three tasks:  1) teacher assigns tasks, 2) student/parent check updates, and 3) student/parent wants to communicate to teacher that assignment is complete.

Low-Fi Prototype

We combined ideas from the bulletin and gamification experience prototypes and created a low-fi prototype of LoopedIn using paper and sharpie.

Medium-Fi Prototype

We used Sketch and Marvel to make three separate medium-fi prototypes to represent the student, parent, and teacher views of our app.

Heuristic Evaluation

Here is the heuristic evaluation performed by our classmates on our medium-fidelity prototype.  We used this feedback to make changes for our final product.
