Project 3: Programming Video Emoticons

Grading criteria Guiding questions Check minus Check Check plus Check plus plus
Prototype A Design Concept
(30%)
Did the design explore an interesting approach for capturing and viewing video emotions? Did the prototype adequately demonstrate the concept to convey the user experience? Obvious design approach. Interesting design approach that built on suggestions made in class. Intriguing design approach that added a clever twist in the user experience. Novel design approach that reflected creative design thinking.
Prototype A Implementation
(10%)
Was the prototype usable enough to get the concept? Was the code adequately written? It worked, but took some guessing to get the basic concepts. Implementation made it easy to understand and use the main concepts. Implementation provided a compelling experience in terms of demonstrating the concept and smooth interaction. Highly developed UI instantiated a particularly innovative and/or effective design.
Prototype B Design Concept
(30%)

Comparison Reflection
(20%)
What did you learn from actually implementing both prototypes? What did you learn from comparing them? What insights did you gain to guide the next iteration? Just got two prototypes working. Comparison led to new insight into sharing emotions in messaging. Unexpected insights about sharing emotions in messaging or next iteration. Prototypes explored very different space. Very creative insights on next iteration.
