Aaron Marcus, Aaron Marcus and Associates
Seminar on People, Computers, and Design
Stanford University February 19, 1992
Principles of information-oriented, systematic graphic design can make graphical user interfaces more functional, legible, readable, appealing, and memorable. A pioneer of computer graphics, one of the first graphic designers to program and use graphic editing systems and graphical user interfaces, will summarize twenty years of experience as he explains three basic concepts: organization, economy, and communication. He will also give specific recommendations for improving metaphors, models, navigation, look, and feel.
Aaron Marcus is founder and Principal of Aaron Marcus and Associates. For ten years his firm has been planning, researching, designing, evaluating, and documenting user interfaces, electronic documents, and knowledge visualization schema.
Titles and abstracts for all years are available by year and by speaker.
