Our goal is to increase overall awareness about accessibility needs for the visually-impaired by guiding individuals to share accessible content on Instagram.
Process
Needfinding
Conducted needfinding interviews with visually impaired individuals to gain insights into their different needs.
Experience Prototypes
Created and tested 3 different experience prototypes based on insights and assumptions from needfinding. Ultimately, an Alt Text Reminder Extension was the most promising solution.
Concept Video
Our concept video depicts the positive experiences that users would gain from using our app.
Low-Fi Prototype
Through 3 user tests on our paper prototype, we learned to better educate users on alt text and clarify ambiguities in language and icons used.
Med-Fi Prototype
We utilized Figma to create an interactive user interface that incorporated feedback from our low-fi prototype to complete our 3 main tasks.
Heuristic Evaluation
Other expert users tested our medium-fi prototype to identify violations of Nielsen's Heuristics.
Hi-Fi Prototype
We addressed the feedback from the Heuristic Evaluations to create a more thoughtful, interactive Hi-Fi prototype on Expo using React Native.
Poster & Pitch
Developed a poster and 30-second pitch that encapsulates our final prototype, design process, and key insights.
