The first step in our design process involved interviewing different people to find out what they valued in an adventure. When interviewing Susan McNealy, her eyes lit up describing an evening in Tahoe with her husband where they went to a restaurant and walked around the lake. We were struck by her insight that the combination of the two activities contributed greatly to her overall experience.

After our first round of user interviews, we followed up with a set of more focused interviews based on the insights we had previously gained. For these interviews, we created a couple of very low-fi experience prototypes and guided our interviewees through each experience. We found that our prototype involving planning a sequence of adventures gained the best reception, both in the interviews and from our studio feedback.

After our second round of interviews, we decided on exploring the problem domain of cascading adventures. Specifically, we wanted to provide a way for users to plan a sequence of activities. To demonstrate this concept, we filmed a variety of activities throughout San Francisco.

We began investigating various designs for our project by creating various Low-Fi prototypes and engaging in 30-minute test sessions with various testers. These sessions were invaluable in gaining insight into which aspects of our designs were confusing and which ones were successful.

After the feedback we recieved in our low-fi prototype tests as well as in class, we designed a Medium Fi prototype. This prototype enabled users to select a (limited) sequence of events to complete our 3 main tasks.

After designing our medium fidelity prototype, we each performed individual heuristic evaluations on other groups' prototypes which we then compiled as a group. The feedback we received was extremely helpful and played a large role in the design of the high fidelity prototype.

After adjusting our designs based on the feedback we received from the heuristic evaluations, we began implementing our hi-fidelity iOS prototype in XCode.

Along with our final high-fidelity prototype, we created a poster and slide to augment our 30 second pitch. In addition, we completed a final, written report and exported our iOS app file for staff use.
