We interviewed 3 people from a diverse range of backgrounds to further investigate the theme of crowd power. In doing so, we learned about their needs and gained various insights, helping us to brainstorm initial questions to help us narrow in on a topic of focus.

Revisiting our needfinding results, we interviewed more participants on a deeper focus, and formulated points of view (POVs) for our potential users. We then came up with several different ways of framing the problem area and design goal. Finally, we created and tested 3 Experience Prototypes to more clearly define our product.

We brainstormed three main tasks that our product enables for the user, and then storyboarded three scenes for a concept video that demonstrates how these tasks are accomplishsed. We then filmed the video, which stars Dan as a tourist who visits Stanford for the first time. Through the Chapter app, Dan meets up with Irving and Melissa, two Stanford students, and they take part in a series of crowdsourced activities. Check out our video below!

Based on our needfinding insights and the 3 tasks we defined, we came came up with various design sketches for different ways to implement our application idea. We then chose two of our best designs, came up with UI storyboards, and constructed and tested a low-fidelity prototype of our app on a diverse range of users.

Using feedback from our usability testing, we redesigned our low-fidelity prototype interfaces and task flows. We then used an interactive UI design tool, Proto.io, to create an interactive prototype of our application.

Our team performed a heuristic evaluation on another team's prototype. Below are the comments our group received from those who reviewed Chapter.

Using results from our heuristic evaluation, we proceeded to design a revised UI based on the challenges users experienced. We then implemented a native iOS app of Chapter.

Below is the final poster and pitch slide that we presented at the 2015 CS 147 project fair. Our project was the runner-up for the Best Pitch award. Go Chapter!
