Hi-fi Prototype README Instructions: Our mobile prototype is a native Android app. We've included a .apk file that contains the mobile portion of the app to the website. Our mobile app runs on Android; our app requires an Android version of at least Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and is targeted at Android version 4.4 (KitKat). We made the app using Android Studio, and tested it on a Nexus S phone with a 4-inch screen. In order to install the app on an Android device, the device's settings might first need to be changed to allow unknown third-party apps to run on the device. The glass prototype is a native Glass app, built using Android Studio. There is no easy way to create a runnable executable of the app, and it would be impossible to view correctly anyway without actually having Google Glass. Therefore, we did not include any executable for the Glass portion of the app. However, you can still view our prototype's source code and download the Android Studio project from our Github repository, which is linked to from our website. Limitations: The translations provided by the Glass prototype are hard-coded, so it can only translate certain Spanish phrases. The phrases, their translations, and the audio recordings of their pronunciations are also hard-coded. However, it is enough to demonstrate how the completed app's UI would appear. The mobile app's graphs, transcripts, and data are also hard-coded since we have not yet implemented any linking between the Glass and the mobile app. A fully implemented and completed app would have these two linked and in communication with each other.
