I Like/I Wish Discussion Notes

I Like...
both parts of the class: brainstorming and lecture.
how engaged the students were.
how the brainstorming sessions were divided up into parts.
seeing how much you could come up with in one minute.
the food and the emphasis on the environment.
ideating around other people who were also ideating.
the little supply kit at each table.

I Wish...
we could bring DDR and a Wii.
we had more time for each of the parts.
there was a link between the lecture and the brainstorming.
we had had more time to understand what was going on.
there had been more time to discuss the brainstorming ideas after they were generated.
we had more chairs that fit the size of the tables (high chairs).

How To...
ind a way to capture the student questions in the lecture?
give the students an opportunity to work on their POVs before?
keep the context of the ongoing process in mind?
make people realize that they are going to be dunked all the time, but still give some modicum of guidance?
integrate the exercise/icebreaker activities and the lecture materials into the worktime?
incorporate time during the worktime to look at other groups projects?
help each of the different teams (once they have a general direction) to go out into the world and get inspirations?
help students more easily learn from instructors (send email: remind students that they can feel free to email the different faculty members with questions)?
have the ILIW next Tuesday (idea: double up on Thursday)?
