Design for Agile Aging
January 24: Poster Presentations

I Like/I Wish Discussion Notes

I Like...
that students really got engaged as they went around the posters.
that the initial presentations were short and well-encapsulated.
being able to talk to people about their specific posters.
the fact that the energy-level was high because of the rapid-fire nature.
was warmup alot (idea: maybe reverse it?).
the way students were so receptive to new ideas during the poster presentation.
the time at the end when we got to coalesce the different ideas.
how students are so excited and adaptive to new ideas.
the challenge of the 8 hour disability exercise.
how this is just a completely different experience from other classes.

I Wish...
there had been a little less chaos in the end.
i had more time to let the design process to "sink in".
we had more time to talk to people about their posters.
we could keep the posters through the later phases.
we could have an "emotional check-in"/"open space" at the beginning of class (should try it once in a while).

How To...
give an intermediate warning to help people move from poster to poster more quickly (a gong perhaps?).
incorporate the richness of the posters into the next step?
get more ideas in the short timeframe?
assess the degree to which students are attached to their own particular designs?
