Connecting helpful tutors with hardworking students

Our goal is to radically simplify your tutoring experience. We aim to bridge the gap between tutors and tutees to streamline the process from finding and meeting with a tutor to dealing with payment and feedback. We'll take care of the hassle so you can focus on tutoring or learning.

  • THE PROCESS

    1) Contextual Inquiry/Task Analysis (Assignment #4)

We came up with the Tutera idea as tutees and tutors ourselves and can understand the difficulty of getting extra help for a subject you need help with. With the idea, we interviewed various people which included tutors, tutees, and parents on how they would need or give subject help. We then created tasks based on these inquiries.

    2) Concept Video & Sketches (Assignment #6)

We then came up with a concept video and sketches on how the mobile application would look. The sketches and UI storyboards were based on the tasks we created from the contextual inquiry.

    3) Low-Fidelity Prototype & Test (Assignment #7)

We created a low fidelity prototype and tested it on new users. We found that some tasks and scenarios went over well but some needed to be changed or rethought completely.

    4) Medium-fi Prototype (Assignment #9)

We updated our prototype based on the low-fidelity testing. We streamlined some tasks and made a semi-functional web application leveraging the Marvel prototyping tool.

    5) Hi-fidelity Prototype (Assignment #12)

    In process.

    6) Heuristic Evaluation (Assignment #13)

We had class members (our peers) evaluate our Tutera application thus far and suggested changes. Some changes were minimal while others will take more time and effort.

    7) Poster (Assignment #15)

    In process.

  • ABOUT OUR TEAM

Our team consists of four Stanford students brought together for a CS147 assignment. Our hope is that by the end of the quarter, we will have a usable and mostly functional hi-fidelity prototype.
